The Scientific Senate of Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania organizes a new edition of the International Conference on Longevity and Gerontology
On 29 March, at 15.00, the 4th edition of the International Conference on Longevity and Gerontology will take place, with the theme “Recent advances in the management of ageing”. The online event is organised by the Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, in partnership with the Romanian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, member of the Lifestyle Medicine Global Alliance and the European Lifestyle Medicine Council.
A supporter and promoter of longevity research, the Scientific Senate brings together leading Romanian physicians and world-renowned specialists to debate the latest solutions for the effective management of ageing.
What is the best nutrition model we can apply for a longer life? What are the biomarkers of ageing and how can we decipher the information they provide? What role can vitamins and antioxidants play in longevity? What is the role of genetics in ageing management?
These are just some of the topics that will be debated at the 4th International Conference on Longevity and Gerontology, part of the Longevity programme.
Among the world-renowned experts in gerontology and longevity attending the conference are Prof. Andrea Maier, Director of the Centre for Healthy Longevity at the University of Singapore; Prof. Guillermo Lopez Luch, Pablo de Olavide University, Spain; Prof. Gabriel Prada, President of the Romanian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology; Dr. Anca Hâncu, nutritionist, Nutriscience Clinic; Conf. Univ. Dr. Ovidiu Peneș, Doctor of Medical Sciences, specialized in age management; Dr. Radu Baila, member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
Globally, longevity and extending lifespan are the main science targets, with 2021-2030 declared by the United Nations and the World Health Organization as the decade for healthy ageing.
