In a constantly changing world, where health and lifestyle are becoming central pillars of our existence, the Romanian Society of Lifestyle Medicine in partnership with the Scientific Senate of Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania organizes the second National Congress with international participation of Lifestyle Medicine. The event will take place between 27-29 September 2023 and will be organised online. Its theme is a challenging one: “Modern Lethal Diseases: Do we tackle the symptoms or the causes?”.
This congress is a unique opportunity in Romania, a turning point in the approach to medicine and health. It is a call to action, awareness and change. It is an opportunity to understand that modern medicine is not just about treatments and medicines, but also about the way we live, eat, move and connect with others. Lifestyle Medicine, as it will be presented at the congress, is the use of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, whole food diets, regular physical activity, adequate sleep and more. These non-drug approaches have the potential to treat, prevent and even reverse chronic non-communicable lifestyle diseases.
At the event, leading names in lifestyle medicine will share from their clinical experience evidence-based cases to correct modern diseases. They include renowned preventive medicine specialist Prof. Dean Orinish, Prof. Hans Diehl, founder of the world’s first lifestyle medicine institute, nutrition expert Michael Gregger and public health expert Tamami Shirai.
The Scientific Senate representative at the Congress, Andrea Maier, Professor of Ageing, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, will be on hand to discuss the latest scientific findings and highlight the importance of collaboration between specialists and the general public.
