The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania organizes a new edition of the International Conference on Longevity and Gerontology

The event will take place on 29 March, starting at 15.00 and is organized by the Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, in partnership with the Romanian Society of Lifestyle Medicine. Longevity specialists will present information related to the theme of the 4th edition of the conference: “Recent advances in ageing management”.

Increasing life expectancy and quality of life is the new frontier in medical research. During this event, which is part of the Longevity programme developed by the Scientific Senate, doctors and researchers from Romania and abroad will discuss the latest interventions and research in this field, such as: epigenetic tests to predict biological age, “candidate” drugs for anti-aging therapy, regenerative and age reversal techniques.

The Scientific Senate Conferences provide the framework for a dialogue between Romanian specialists and foreign researchers, inviting each time world-renowned experts. Among those who have participated in previous editions are: Prof. Dr. Hans Diehl from Loma Linda University in the United States (founder of the world’s first Lifestyle Medicine Institute), Prof. Andrea Maier, Co – Director Centre for Healthy Longevity, National University of Singapore (one of the most important longevity centres in the world), Dr. Tamami Shirai from the Japanese Society of Lifestyle Medicine and Prof. Guillermo Lopez Luch, from Pablo de Olavide University in Spain, along with other prominent names in the international medical community.

As a new feature compared to previous editions, the conference will include both scientific paper sessions and a section for the general public, which will contain tips for living longer and healthier lives.

Globally, extending life span is the main science target, with 2021-2030 declared by the United Nations and the World Health Organisation as the decade for healthy ageing.
