Happy senior old friends on a reunion at retirement club
Ema Mercore, President of the Romanian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, presented these habits at the International Conference on Longevity and Gerontology on “Active Ageing and Current Interventions to Slow Cognitive Decline”.
Ema Mercore says that people in areas of the world with a high level of longevity usually have a well-defined purpose in life, enjoy beneficial social relationships, a diet based predominantly on fruit and vegetables and extremely low amounts of animal foods. Long-lived people also have family input into what they do, i.e. cook, eat and spend time together. Another common element was the consumption of small amounts of red wine but also faith and spirituality.
