Coenzyme Q10 has a vitamin-like role and is present in all cells in the human body, especially those with high activity – heart, liver, brain.
The importance of Coenzyme Q10 was discussed by Prof. Dr. Guillermo Lopez Lluch, Professor of Cell Biology, Pablo de Olavide University, Spain, at the International Conference on Longevity and Gerontology on “Active ageing and current interventions to slow cognitive decline”.
The professor explained that the role of Coenzyme Q10 is very important especially for the functionality of cells, especially mitochondria (“energy factories of the cell”) specialised in lipid and protein synthesis. It is also the main anti-oxidant of molecules in the limbs.
