EUROINVENT, South Eastern Europe’s largest invention exhibition, has nominated its winners. For two days, over 400 inventions and projects from more than 20 countries were present at the Palace of Culture in Iasi.
The grand prize, a 10,000 lei scholarship offered by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation through the Scientific Senate, was received by a team of researchers from the Electrical Engineering Faculty of Iasi that brought to the competition a mechatronics glove.
A device intended strictly for those who have suffered a stroke that caused paralysis. The mechatronic gloves can aid the recovery process by moving the paralyzed hand. The device is connected to a computer, and with the help of electrodes attached to the muscle, it manages to reproduce the movement the patient wants to make, helping the patient recover much faster.
